Torx Bit For Bell Housing Removal

Can anyone tell me the Torx bit that is needed to remove the

bell housing on a 4L60E and who makes it/carries it?

(in store or online; best price)

 

I have seen T50 plus, TP50, T-50P. One site listed a T55 plus.

 

I just need clarification and help finding one.

That link is for a TP55. They also have a TP50. I don't recall which one it is. I wouldn't recommend buying cheap torx drivers. They either break or mess up your fastener.

I like the mac stuff. I just don't have a dealer around here. I buy the Mac stuff online. At one point I got a 20% discount on Snapon from the industrial sales guy so I bought from him. I've been meaning to buy that full set of Torx bits from Mac but haven't needed them yet.

Well, I found on 2 other forums that it is the 50 plus. (for anyone else that's looking for it)

 

I only know of MacTools that has it for $10 (SnapOn has it but its $28).

 

It can be in any number of part listings.

Some I've seen listed are:

--- T50P, TP50, T50 Plus, or a bunch of others

 

As long as it says "50 Plus" somewhere on the package you should be good.

Agree on the T50 being the correct size.

 

Was watching one of them truck shows on TV today, and they were rebuilding a 4l60e, and it was a T50 they used. They also said you may end up using a hammer & chisel to get them out, so may want to have spares pn hand.
