I have read other posts about this upgrade but can someone please summarize the process for adding the newer (09/10) XM module with NavTraffic?

 

There was talk of some of the OEM Navigation units not being NavTraffic capable but other forums say the Nav unit has nothing to do with it.

 

I know it has to be a new unit or else the used ones are locked to the original vehicle VIN which then requires Tech2 programming to the new vehicle.

 

I know the module in most applications is behind the glove box.

 

Weren't the new XM NavTraffic units on the same restricted list as the BlueTooth VCIM's?
