Looking For Info On Aux Trans Cooler

i'm just curious if anybody had a pic of the stock trans cooler on an 04 half ton...i saw a 05 today and the cooler looked double my size and i think the truck was stock...also whats the rpo code?

no pics here for you, but personally, on my '03 I just put he biggest B&M cooler I could get from Summit Racing. Kit came with everything needed to add it to my truck that didn't have the Auxiliary cooler from the factory

The B and M cooler is made by a company in Canada, the name is stamped into the B and M Cooler. Same company makes them for GM. Good design and the larger ones are available at Summitt.

 

At least they were the same when I upgraded my Denali cooler after losing my Tranny. I installed a 15,000 GVW cooler. Larger than I would ever need in any situation but the factory unit went through a failure and you don't reinstall a cooler after the tranny had failed pushing debree through it.

well i'm just trying to decide if i really even have a trans cooler? i have a small radiator about the size of a bible down in front of the main radiator below my bowtie...the other truck i saw the trans cooler was double the size of what i think i have in mine, but this one was dead center of the main radiator and behind the bowtie...i'm assuming maybe the other truck has an after market trans cooler

sounds like you are correct.

 

the stock trans cooler is dead center in front of the a/c condenser/ right behind the grille, no larger than a smallish hard cover book, about the size of an average bible like you said.

 

When it comes to trans coolers bigger is better.
