Window cleaner does an amazing job for cleaning chrome. Luckily I don't have any chrome on any of my cars but in previous experience it does a fantastic job. Doesn't really protect though, just leaves a streak free finish.

One concern with your reply.....wouldnt polish destroy or be useless on a chrome rim that has been clear coated? Do you by any chnace know whether or not the factory chrome rims for your gmc and my chevy are clear coated or not?

Thank for the reply by the way.

The oem Chevy and Gmc Chrome Clad rims are not factory clear coated. So they can be chrome polished like your bumpers, hood trim, etc... I follow up my chrome polish with a Maguiar's Gold Class Wax...

The two best products I have found are: Unbelievable metal polish and Alcoa pdq... They are amazing they both blow any mothers product out of the water for shine and easy use . I use them on my semi which has 10 alum wheels and two big alum tanks and have tried everything imaginable and that's worked the best for me... I know your asking about chrome but the Unbelievable works great for that as well its safe for all metals and protects for a good 6 months...
