jwoodall Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I have a Delta Pro single lid box that I am looking at getting powder coated. The issue is I need to remove the gas struts before they can put the box in the oven. Does anyone have any knowledge of how to remove these from the box? Anyone replaced them before?
mfennema Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I just removed some of the gas struts on my tool boxes so I could paint them, not sure if yours are the same, but on mine there is a small clip that goes around the strut at the place where it connects. You just slip a screw driver under that clip and pry backwards on it. The prying separates the clip and allows you to pull the strut off of the ball that it is holding on to. Sorry I don't have any pictures of it. Just look for a little metal clip and pry it out.
catmechanic07 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 The little clips are called "E" clips. They strectch easy and are usually a pain!
