Hey guys, I recently sprayed the inner wheel wells on the back of my truck with rubberized asphalt undercoating and I just noticed I got some overspray on the box of my truck. I am able to scrape it off some what with my finger nail but its very slow going, any one have a sugguestion what would take it off quicker yet not harm the paint. I was thinking about one of those clay bars but i've never used one. I also thought of just varsol/paint thinner as thats what I used to clean it of my hands, just curious if this would harm the paint.

Thanks Chris.

yeah I didnt think of that, I found some turtlewax bug and tar remover that im going to give a try.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

As mentioned any bug and tar remover would do the trick, as would goo gone, goof off, etc.

My personal picks would either be 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, or Stoner's Tarminator.

Guys, just remember one thing:

Use the right tool for the right job and you'll ALWAYS come out with a positive result.

Don't go using something random that doesn't specify that it is safe on automotive paint.

for sure, as for the news paper masking tape method, I did cover a large portion around the wheel well just not large enough I guess, trying to spray the inside lip I must have gotten it into the air outside the fender.

Use WD-40 on a clean soft rag, you will be amazed at how well it works and does not harm the paint at all.

Brake parts cleaner worked for me in the past, but spray it on a rag or paper towel, not on the stain.
