Thanks herkdriver, I hadnt seen that. I now know that tape will work if I choose that. I also know a couple of colors I dont want to use!

Great writeup...I'm very interested in doing this since my cheap ebay HID kit kept burning up bulbs. I threw away my HID setup and now I'm ready to go back with projectors this time!

Just a quick question, it looks like it does not illuminate any ground until 20+ feet away? Its almost as if the headlight housing is blocking the light distribution at the bottom. Do you have some more pictures of it against a wall with the truck further back so I can get a better idea of the light spread?

I dont have any from farther away, but I can tell you sitting in the truck looking outward, that its bright just in front of the vehicle all the way up to the cutoff...

I did this over several weeks; hours-wise...no idea. I think if you have all the parts around, a weekend would suffice.

I know this is an older thread, but I have a quick question. What would happen if you put a 9006 bulb in the projector meant for an H1 bulb?

I think because of the base of the housing, you'd have to have the H1 for it to fit... Bulbs are not that expensive really, so probably not worth the "risk" of making it work.... if you try to force glass, it WILL shatter!!!! I popped a bulb from my high beam accidentally, I'm lucky the bulb was pointed away, otherwise I might not have my vision.... the glass took out chunks of my forearms, not a pleasant thing!

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life. I'm getting ready to retro my '08 Sierra. i'm still in the parts buying process and trying to decide on which projector to use. Any tips or tricks you can share about fitting the projector in the housing? if you had to do it over again would you still have used the mini H1 projectors?

Sorry to take so long to see this...havent been on in a while!

If i had to do it over again, I'd try and "one up" myself and go with a little more complicated projector. But for simplicity, the Morimotos are hard to beat.

Really its been so long since the retro, I dont recall too many little tips/tricks...just take your time!
