2008 Silverado Brake Issue

Today when pulling into a parking lot, as I turned into a space, my brakes came on by themselves. Not locking them up, just applying the brakes on their own. Did some testing in the parking lot. If I put the truck in drive it moves slowly as expected (no addional power applied). As soon as I turn the wheels either to the left or right, the brakes apply strong enough to stop the vehicle from moving. If I apply a little power in that same position/direction, the braking recedes. This now happens all the time. There has been no work done on the vehicle nor any accidents etc. This just began taking place without any indication anything was wrong. No warning lights on the dshboard. Truck runs and drives fine except for this crazy anomoly now. 2008 K1500 Silverado Z71 extended cab. About 45,000 miles on the vehicle. Suggestions? Ideas?
