Rear Gate

hey guys....i have Yukon Denali...and there are times when I am driving the DIC shows (and the interior lites come on) "rear gate open". I stop...open and close the gate and it still won't show up as closed and the interior light will day on (this is a major pain in the ass at night)

 

After I close is and drive for a few mins it normally goes back to normal...but do you guys know of a fix for this?

 

I can't find the sensor for the rear gate...am I looking for the right thing?

 

It is just annoying as hell.

The sensor could possible by in the locking mechanism that holds the door shut. I would maybe try to find the plug in which may require you to take of the back door panel and un plug and plug it back in and make sure its fitting secure.
