2003 Yukon: 3 Issues..need Advise

Recommended Posts

Got 3 issues with 2003 GMC Yukon XL autoride:

1. Started hearing a rapid/constant clicking under the hood, almost sounds like fuel injectors. Any way to reduce this sound, or what it may be? It is quit loud when idlying, and when driving.

2. When starting: throwing a "service air bag" code on dash. (Was throwing now and then, now pretty much a constant).

3. Whgen starting throwing a "service air ride" code on dash. (Compressor comes on now and then. When compressor comes on, no code is thrown).

I haven't taken it in to have checked, because I wanted to research first. Just wondering if anyone has any advise or ideas.

Thanks

Dan

1) noisey lifters or valves...try running a fuel system cleaner(gm makes a good one) how often you change your oil

2) could have a wire or fuse loose(do not try to tamper with the airbag, take it to a dealer)

3)service ride is probably a wheel sensor going or rusted...

The service air ride is probably one of the rear shocks has a hole in it or your compressor went out. Bad news on that is anytime that light comes on its not going to be cheap.

Is the clicking noise you hear under the hood all the time or just at start up for a min or two?
