Help With Hvac Blower!

The HVAC blower in my '01 GMC Sierra has been going out (all fan speeds or none at all) intermittently the past few months. It crapped-out twice this weekend so I started reading the the GM-Trucks.com blogs for some clues.

The Blower Motor Resistor seemed to be a common culprit, so I started checking the wiring harness connections on the passenger side just above the floorboard. The blower started working immediately. I noticed that one of the wires (Black Ground wire) was very warm in the wiring connector plugged into the resistor assembly. It was also corroded, so I removed the resistor and unplugged the wiring connectors.

The black ground had been getting so hot that it was melting the connector and resistor housing. I dug around on the internet and found the two websites below: 1) detailing exactly what the problem was and 2) providing an OEM replacement part web store. I should receive my new resistor and wiring harness next week for $82.94
