Nitto Trail Grapplers Or Bfg A/t Ko

Try to decide tonight which tires to order. i really want nitto trail grapplers 285/65/r18 which measures 32.8 tall and 11.9 wide. Will they fit without major rubbing with my 2.5 leveling kit and 3 inch rear blocks?? Or do i just go with BFG A/T KO's 285 /65/ r18 which measure 32.7 tall and 11.5 wide. The guy im ordering the tires from is saying he thinks the 285 nitto trail grapplers r to big and they will rub? Can i fit a 285 / 65 / r18 which is just under 33 inches and just under 12 wide with a 2.5 leveling kit and rear blocks? lemme know your opinions plz and thanks

I'm looking at the Trail Grapplers in a 295/70/17 which is like a 33.5" tire. I'm hoping they fit with just a 2" leveling kit. Because I really want those tires. I might get them and hope they don't rub and if they do I'll trim some. I think you would be fine with that tire with a 2.5 leveling kit. Its not even a full 33" tall

I am pretty the Nittos will fit. MasZ71 has those tires and just a leveling kit and I htink he said they do not rub. I certainly hope not because those are the ones I think I am getting.

i dont know.. such a hard decision.. these nitto trail grapplers just seem so nice. and i can get a smoking deal of them.

i have the bfgs lt285 70r 17s and the tread life sucks bad, i have 30,000 on them and i have to get new tires they are so low in treadlife. i am going with the hankook dyna pros next. hope they last longer. just my opinion on bfg.

Wow! Really that bad? What's the mileage rating on the tires?

 

Let me know if you are still able to retain your mudflaps with those tires.

My tire dealer told me a typical "off brand" MUD tire will get around 20k miles. He said 35-40 for a WELL MAINTAINED (air pressure/rotation) BRAND NAME Mud tire.

 

I bought the Nitto's for the look, and figured I would find out how long they lasted. It's a new tire design, so no one really knows about mileage. They are much quieter than your typical mud tire. I have the 295/70/17's.

I put a set of Pro Comp Extreme AT in 306/65/17 on my 2008 Sierra right at 38,000 miles ago. My truck has a Rough Country 2" level kit and I never had a problem with them rubbing at all.

I have run both the Nitto's and BFG's. I liked the look of the Nitto's better but I got 15k more miles out of the BFG's

yeah i have the nittos now and they seem fine.. i had the bfgs before and i must say they were by far the toughest best wearing tire ive had.. keep in mind im a kid.. i live in the country.. lots of burnouts and crazy back road driving in my truck lol

Im a BFG TAKO guy personally but I know a couple of guys that love Terra Grapplers.

BFG's are the safe bet, I've heard tire wear issues with the Nitto's plus I don't care much for the tread.

 

I'm running a set of Toyo O/C A/T's and love them. I've heard nothing but good things about these tires and I'm hoping they wear as good as the Toyo M/T"s I ran on my old trucks.
