Gmpp Cai For 09 Sierra 4.8

I bought a GMPP CAI for my 09, but when I recieved it, it turns out it's for an 08 and looks to be incompatible because my map ensor is attatched right to the OEM air box. Would I damage the vehicle in any way to try an install a MAF sensor from an 08 to my 09 to install the CAI. I have yet to find one thats compatible from my truck from GMPP.

The '09 CAI/stock intake systems are different, as are the MAF systems and so on, and they are NOT cross compatible. You can't swap '08 or earlier parts, in respect to the intake.

They did make an '09+ specific GMPP intake, that goes with the other changes made, but then discontinued it, so only a handful ever really made it out for sale.

I dont see why you could not drill a hole to accomodate the sensor that our 09's have.

I would just be concerned with leaks. Im sure somebody that is handy with a dremel will eventually find a way.

Personly im just going to replace the stock air tube and keep the stock box which is true cold air.

in that case, any suggestions/reccomendations for a CAI, or am I better off waiting a bit before going that roue to see if something comes out from GMPP?
