You have an EGR????

I thought they got rid of that stupid POS system back in 02.

Some people say the EGR robs you of power...I have no proof either way.

You do have to remove the EGR Valve assembly and block it with a plate...and have it tuned out of the program as well.

 

You will throw a light if you just get rid of it. You need to have it tuned out.

Nothing...it just disables the reporting of its fault status. If you disconnect it, you will throw a light because the ECM doesn't know what the EGR is doing...If you "tune it out" it will disable the communications with the EGR and not set a light.

I don't know how to tell whether I have it or not. I thought that maybe I still had EGR because I live in CA. Plus my tuner has the option to disable or enable EGR. I know now that I don't have it- I figured that out shortly after nytemare's response.
