2000 Gmc 1500 Transmission Fits From What ?

I have 1 new bodystyle 1999 gmc 1500 sierra and need a new transmission. Can I get one from a similar silverado?

i believe the 1999-2001 4l60e from a gmc or chev will work

actually, a 99- at least 05 would bolt right in..... assuming you are talking about a V8. If you are talking about a V6 it changes everything.

 

if you have a 2wd you need a 2wd, if you have a 4wd you need a 4wd.

You can use the transmission from a SUV also. The thing you would look for is in the glove box there is a white sticker, you need the RPO code: M30 (4L60e transmission)

excellent advice nickv. I will keep that in mind when mine goes. It's got 160miles on it so it's only a matter of time.
