Volume Control Probw/ Stock Hu W/ Line Output Converter !

I have a 2007 2500hd classic WT new body style, my problem has been ongoing!!! I had origionally installed a cheap pair of line out converters with an eclipse xa4000 amplifier [125x4 rms] to run my door speakerswhich were upgraded to a pair of 6.5" boston separates to run off the front channels of the HU and amp. I am running two 8" jl audio w-1's off the rear channel of the HU and amp. The problems are with my door speakers, I ran all new wireto all speakers I have set everything up right, I believe I know what I am doing when it comes to audio installs however this is my first doing any oem integration. everything sounded awesome til I turned the volume up to where I wanted it loud enough for me and maybe a few neighbors a few streets over, but my speakers would pop and distort like cazy til I turned thhe volume down but it was not loud enough for me when I did so. I had thought I had blown the speakers as they are the low line of bostons. I went to the stereo shop and bought some speakers that could handle the power of my amp with no problem,, they are a set of exile audio xp65 separates rated at 175 rms and sunded badass in the wall at the shop. Tool them home installed them and they sounded like ass, went to take them back and the owner of the shop said the would install them for me thinking I had F@#$ed up doing so. but they still sounded like S$Ft til the installer said it was my oem stereo sending a crappy signal through the line out conv. He told me to get a audiocontrl lc6 line out conv to cleann up the signal and it would sound awesome.[ thanks to those who have read this far] my point finally is it still distorts and pops in my separates when I turn it up to a nice loud volume and was wondering if anyone has has this problem with a stock HU and line out converter integration and what you did to fix any of it w/o having to buy aftermarket HU's.

I'm interested in this too. I am upgrading mine soon and wonder if a better quality line output converter would fix your problem. I plan to run one of these, sounds like maybe it would fix your problem.

thanks for the link to those they look like they would be a great solution. I have already bought my audio control unit lc6 loc and it still does not give me wht I want out of the system. I know it is capable of mch more spl in thedoors. I am wondering that the problem may be in the head unit as the stereo shop told me the signal from that was weak, I just would have thought it would not matter much as I am just frustrated as a loc is pretty straight forward in how it is supposed to operate!!!!!! and wanted cross reference with others who have had this problem!!

LOC's are pretty bad to start with. Chances are your car has built in amps, (All newer vehicles do) and thats why it sounds like crap. your amp is sending power signals through your converters. I always advice people not use LOC's when possible, they just don't do a good job. I had LOC's for my dual tens in my old 2001 Stratus, and they gave me nothing but issues. It was just easier to replace factory head unit.
