A Little Help. Gmt-900 Strut/coil Removal

I have asked around on a couple of other boards yet no one has really replied.

 

I am trying to install my McGaughy's coil re-locators but I cannot remove the nut on top of the assembly. I have the coils compressed and have tried everything but the piston shaft that the nut is attached to will not stop spinning. What do I do to get this thing apart??

Are there flats on the piston shaft or can you get a strap wrench around it?

There aren't any flats on it other than the nipple on top right above the nut. I can get a wrench on the nut and vice-grips on the flats but the vice-grips just slip and I don't have a strap wrench or easy access to one atm.

Impact gun being used? I just zapped mine off a few weeks ago and worked like a champ with the gun.
