Keyless Entry / Fob Functionality

Hey guys-

I have replaced the batteries in my fob and gone through the reprogramming procedure of holding down the unlock button while turning the key to the on position and back to off three times, releasing the unlock botton and then holding down both lock and unlock buttons on my fob for 30 seconds. Nothing happens at all. I've look at the circuit board inside the fob and all the little connections look fine. What else can be the problem? How hard is is to locate and check the receiver? Is there any obvious signs that the receiver is not functioning? I am at a loss. I don't want to spend the money on a new fob if that is not the issue. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

Same problem here, even the dealership couldnt get it to program. My truck was shipped to them without Fob's but they say it was supposed to come with keyless entry. Mine is a 2010 W/T. I hope changing out the stereo didnt mess anything up but it shouldnt?

Bump! Well does anyone know if all the new body style chevys have keyless entry? Particularly the W/Ts, would it have been on the window sticker? Thanks

If it has power door locks and power windows, then it is safe to assume that it has keyless entry.

Dealership was able to get them working. They had to call GM and get a code or some $hit. I guess they are trying to put a stop to people saving money and buying FOBs online.

That's good, at least they work again. How much did they charge you? I am still waiting for my fob to come in the mail. that would suck if this new one did not fix the problem and I had to go in to the dealership anyway.

Yeah they did get it going. It was free sense I bought the truck from them and they didnt give me fobs in the first place.
