2007 Silverado Hid Low Beams Wont Work

Recommended Posts

hey guys,

i just went and picked up 3 hid kits for my 2007 silverado, got my fog light low beams and high beams. they are spose to be plug and play kits, the high beam and fog lights do work but when i plug in the low beams they wont work. however if i pull the hid out and put the fillamint bulbs back in they work great..

someone told me that they wont work do to the day time running light (drl)?

another person said that with low beams circuit they dont put out enough power for the hid so i would have to run a relay with straight 12v power?

and i saw on a different forum that you can run a jumper wire in the fuse box from the drl to the low beams???

anyways, i need these light to work , so if anybody has delt with this problem or have any idea on what i should be doing please let me know.

thanks..

i know its silly but really make sure your positive and negative wires are all wired up properly. i had the same issue.

yea, ive checked that out allready. ive been told that i have to run a relay becouse the low beams dont put out enough juice to power up the hid lights.

i guess if a guy dissables the drl its spose to boost the power up a bit and in some cases it gives enough extra juice to power the lights, but its not working with me.

so it looks like im going to need to run a relay.......thumbs down!!

You will need to disable the DRL's with HID's because of the low output they will make short work of your ballasts that are set up for the lows.

Secondly, the plug and play kit that you got with the HID's...is it just the ballasts or did it come with a wiring harness with it?

On my truck with HID's high and low (2009 Sierra), I did not need to run a wiring harness. You just have the 4 ballasts and they plugged into the OEM headlight plug on one side and then the other wire hooks into your HID bulbs. No relay harnesses required and I have no issues.
