14" Or 18" Magnaflow

Alright, what do you guys think, 14" or 18". The plan is to go fairly cheap and do a direct replacement for the stocker, keeping the stock piping. It'll be going on an NNBS CC 5.3 w/ AFM. I want to be able to hear that V-8 without it being annoying. I've done plenty of searches on here but can't get enough info to make a decsion for direct replacement. Has anyone done this, let me know what you think or if I should go with a flowmaster to get more sound out of a s/i-s/o system. I do alot of hunting and trail riding and would not be inclined to put any extra rock hangers (duals) underneath the truck. I am also considering dumping somewhere around the rear axle. Would a 14 be to loud, would a 18 be to quiet?

I put a magnaflow 12229 on my truck. Kept the stock piping the only problem is the the drone in v4 mode. I wont have this drone after Justin tunes my truck. The muffler sounds like stock at idle but when you get on her its got a nice rumble.

im assuming you added in some couplers to make it fit?

 

from my measurements, i bought the biggest magnaflow i could find.. P/N 12579, and i should be able to cut out the old, slip in the new, weld it up and be done.
