Cap Owners With The Rear Sliding Window

I have a rear sliding window and I'm thinking about getting a cap on my box. By the sounds of the Leer site you can get a sliding window in the cap, but I forgot to ask this when I was in the store.

 

What I'm wondering is how much does the cap cut down on air flow from that rear window?

I had a slider installed in my 2K Chevy, and had a cab high cap on it. I hardly ever opened the rear window, but I did get some airflow through it. I didn't have the slider in but a short time before the cap was mounted, so no comparison to slider only.

 

If you do get a cap, get the drop down front window! Available with a solid or slider window. That way you can clean the outside of both the windows.

I got the nbs 4 door silverado with rear slider and a cap with a fold down front window. Cap cuts down on airflow a lot. Makes a little noise at freeway speeds, but nothing that stops you from having a normal volume conversation up front. Hot days, I usually just keep the rear slider open to let some of the heat out when parked, but it definitely won't let much air in when driving. I plan on buying the fold down cap window with the slider so I can let some hot/cold air to the back where the dog rides.

Just bumping this topic up a bit because I'm considering getting a cap and this is really holding me back. I love the air flow that back window does provide on a hot day, especially if the front windows are open.

 

I would definitely get a cap with the rear slider so I could open that and the windows in the cap and possibly one with the removable window in the cap.

 

I think it would be great to increase the volume of the box but this is still one of those nagging concerns in the back of my mind.
