I am thinking of trading in my full size regular cab on a extended cab ZR2????

Any thoughts? Do they pull ok? Will I miss the power?

Basically i want to take advantage of the 0% financing, I need 4x4 gas mileage is a plus (love my 5.3) but I think I can get into a ZR2 with trade for around 15K maybe a little less????

Has anyone had one?

What kind of mileage do they get?

Will I beable to pull a car trailer?

How about a boat?

I don't think I would make that trade unless you are really in need of the extra passenger space. And even then, the extended cab ZR2 doesn't have that much space in the back seat. Plus towing capacity is 4700lbs. The 4.3L is a great motor but it isn't V8 like, like the new 4.2 I6. Here is the fuel data.

S-10 Pickup 4x4 Models

Vortec 4300 V6 engine with 5-speed manual 14/18

Vortec 4300 V6 engine with 4-speed automatic 15/19

Towing on your full size if it is a 1500 is between 7700 and 9100 lbs depending on how it is equipped and gas milage is

Silverado 1500 4x4 Vortec 5300 V8 4-speed auto. 14/18

Tough call.

I tried going from a full size to a compact once befor. I was back at the dealer a year later because it was just to small inside. Just a thought.

I traded in a ZR2 Blazer for the Silverado I had now, Simply because it was small inside and the back seat is pretty tight, if someone had to get back there! I think the ext cab trucks only have one seat in the back because of the third door, so its basically just storage! The V6 isnt all that bad, but its no V8 for sure, especially when it comes to towing! The MPG was worse on the ZR2 than my 4.8 rado and REALLY worse if you run the AC! It was an awesome vehicle though, especially off road! All you can do is go set in one and drive one, If you are comfortable with the interior as well as the engine, you will probably not have any regrets! yzr2k has an ext cab ZR2, you could find out everything you need to know from him probably!
