Anyone Else's Ac Condensor Get Your Carpet Wet?

Recommended Posts

I just got back from Tampa and I noticed that both ways to and from there about an hour into the trip my carpet was wet. Had the ac at max cold on the lowest power. This happen to anyone else?

I did an orlando trip a few months ago more or less the same distance and I didn't notice it. So it may have happened or not.

Condenser cannot possibly do that, it is out front of the rad, but the evaporator can if the drain for the heater box is plugged. Look for a rubber tube or flap hanging from the firewall on the right side. Make sure it is not blocked.

sorry not the condensor (brain fart, been driving for 3 hrs lol). right behind the radio this is the box, i'm guessing its the blower. The whole box was covered with condensation, enought that it would form into beads and was rolling down to the carpet on the hump in the center. I don't have a center console I got the extra seat so that hump where the person puts their feet is what gets wet towards the dash.

Mine still drips A LOT lately outside, so the drain is not blocked, but I have also had a passenger comment on getting wet feet when they were wearing flip flops...I guess the humidity lately is getting to it, seemed to be worse on long drives though.

Condensation on the outside of the box is normal in high humidity. Only thing I can suggest is to use the recircuation (used to be called "Max" in the old days) option to limit the amount of "fresh" air coming into the cab of the truck.

I always have it on the recirculation, thats why I find it weird.

Noticed mine doing it this evening when I got home from my trip home. Where to look to see if the drain tubes may or may not be blocked? When I do back into the garage the truck drips a lot of water on the floor so I would assume that they are not blocked but I want to check them any way.
