Cracked Gauge Lenses

anybody run into this one yet?

about a month ago the lense that covers the gauge clusters on my 08 gmt900 started cracking.

I noticed one day while driving home that my lense was cracked almost 3/4 of the way across from left to right.

This week I noticed that the smaller gauge clusters are getting cracks in them as well???

I have never taken the dash apart....the truck is a work truck but it never gets any serious abuse.

anybody know of this happening on other trucks?

its off the bumper2bumper warranty so I'm sure the stealership would fix it at my cost....I'll probably look into fixing it myself....but it makes me wonder what caused it and what would prevent it from happening again.

I have a 2008 suburban and this happened to me as well after a few months. I have been to the chevy dealership that I bought it new off the showroom floor and they have stated several time it is a known problem with GM but GM nor they will replace it. I think if enoough of us GM owners with tphppis problem band together we may be able to get it fixed under warranty. I will see if anyone responds. Very dissapointed in GM.

I own an 09 Traverse, just bought it used from dealer two wks ago. Got in it one day (third day of driving it!!!) and found the lense cracked over both left and right lense over instrument panel. On my way to dealer to see what they'll do. I have bumper to bumper warranty - we'll see how good it is. Oh and I called GM as well. They told me to get a diagnosis from dealer and then call them back and they'll let me know what they'll do.
