2000 Silverado A/c Comp Clutch Disengages

A/C will turn on and cool fine for a while. However, when throttling up (i.e. accelerating at a green light), the A/C compressor clutch will disengage and the A/C will blow warm air. If you turn off the A/C, wait a few seconds, and turn it on again, it will return to blowing cold air. Freon charge is fine.

Any ideas or recommendations? Thank you!

What is the high and low pressure readings and what's the temp when you read the gauges..... Also, were you in a shaded place........

I would guess airflow. Probably has a clutch fan on the water pump. Maybe it is not pulling enough air at idle and is causing the AC line pressure to reach a limit and turn off? Maybe check the fan clutch?
