A Grabbing Sensation Under Hard Acceleration

This is on my 04 Yukon with 80,000 miles -

 

Under hard acceleration or going up a moderate hill at about half throttle (highway speeds), there's a very strange grabbing sensation, about every second (plus or minus). I don't have any engine or transmission related codes coming up, but a few HVAC related.

 

Does this sound like a TCC solenoid going bad? Or something worse?

Mine does that cruising with the a/c on, but otherwise doesn't.

Mine does that cruising with the a/c on, but otherwise doesn't.

 

Is there a fix for it, other than turning off the AC? This problem didn't always exist, but I just went out on a little drive, and with the AC off, I'm not feeling what I was yesterday! -- At least I feel better about my transmission health now.

Well, it's doing that because with the a/c on your a little low on freon and the compressor keeps kicking on and off, because of low pressure.
