Hypertech Power Programmer Vs. Stock

I got a programmer with this truck when I bought it. I set it back to stock when I got home. I am currently selling the programmer on the net. Is the programmer better than nothing? Will the firmer shifts really extend my tranny life? Just seeing if I should keep it.

It will last just as long, maybe longer, in its stock form. You just won't have the added benefit of more power and better throttle response. I'd still suggest running some kind of tuner or tune, because that engine has so much untapped power with stock parameters.

I got one for my truck and have 232k miles on it, I got 11 mpg when I bought it now I average 13.9, I made a trip to MO from Ga and averaged 15.9 the best I've got was 17 mpg. I love the firmer shifts as I pull a 8900 lbs camper. I would never put mine back to stock
