talgates and beds

Are all the new ('99 - '02) Silverado tailgates the same?  How do the beds differ?

The beds and tailgates are the same for all '99-'02.  The only different ones are the PROTEC (plastic bed and tailgate) and the stepsides.  Stepsides have a narrow tailgate.  Trim pieces are a bit different for different models too.  Chevy Stepsides and LS and LT 1500 have the whale tail tailgate protector.  GMC, Chevy base and HD have the smooth tailgate protector.  Hope that is what you were looking for.
