5.3l Exhaust Cutout

I have a 2010 ext cab GMC sierra with the 5.3L. I'd like it to be louder but not all the time. Has anyone tried an electric exhaust cutout on these? I would most likely install it in the straight pipe right before the muffler. Any thoughts on this?

ive done it. better if it goes before the cat but i dunno how the stock sysm is set up

cats are connected after the manifold before the pipe travels horizontal

I ended up purchasing one and placed it after the cats and right before the muffler. I love the way it sounds. Not drastically loud and I love that I can have that stock sound on long trips. It is fun mashing the gas then opening it. it does make heads turn. haha
