Easiest Way To Add An Extra Inch To Rear Of Fabtech?

Recommended Posts

I am going to install the 1.5" body lift and 1.5" front coil spacer on top of the fabtech. Wondering if there is a easy (or cheap) way to get an extra inch in the rear end so the truck doesnt have the cali lean (bull dog look)? It sits totally level now i would like to keep it that way if i can.

Right now the fabtech has the rear block and AAL for the rear lift. Does anyone make a bigger block? or a one inch block i could stack? Looks like I could get away with getting another inch under the u-bolts that are holding the blocks down now without having to replace them.

get a 1" bigger block

Seems like an easy enough way to do it right> where do I get the bigger blocks? I was just out looking at the shackles and that shackle lift seems like it would work. Just a shorter shackle and says 1.5 - 2" of lift. Its only $70 bucks so the price is right.

I guess the question is, where can i find bigger blocks, and how much $. The other question is are there any unforeseen problems with running the shackle lift? Neither route looks like its very hard to install.

You really need to see the shackle position with a load on the truck and suspension squating. Or raise the truck and support the frame and let the rear diff sag. A shorter shackle may have suspension travel limits.

1-2" does not sound like it would effect much? But The shackle is pretty short to begin with and a shackle an inch or 2 shorter might limit rear suspension travel.

The stock leaf springs have a pretty big radius (fairl flat) so their chord length (from end to end) might not change enough to be an issue with shorter shackles.

I have no experience with them, I am just giving you something to think about.

Thanks for the heads up.
