Redundant Steering Wheel Controls

Recommended Posts

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra with a factory-installed single CD radio. Has anyone installed the factory radio controls that were oprional on the steering column? I've seen an Escalade of the same year, and saw some switches on its column, which I think are the same ones that would have come on my truck. If installed, is there a module that they connect to, which communicates with the radio? Is my factory radio compatible with the redundant switches? Has anyonde done this conversion? Thanx.

I tried your suggestion and typed the word redundant in "search" and got no where. Should I try another key word?
