fennsz Posted September 11, 2002 Posted September 11, 2002 I have a set of Stainless maap step/nerf bars installed on my truck. I love the look, but when I drive into a driveway or take corners where the truck gets a little twist to it, the bars squeak. Now I tightened them down and torqued them, even with an impact, but they still seem to make noise. Any suggestion? I may grease the connections?
Jet-X Posted September 12, 2002 Posted September 12, 2002 Here's a little trick... Disassemble and apply clear silicon (I use a tube of 3M aquarium sealant which can be purchased at Home Depot) to the mating surface of the mounting bracket's. Re-assemble. Wipe off the excess. Should solve the problem.
fennsz Posted September 12, 2002 Author Posted September 12, 2002 thanks, I will try that this weekend.
