Allison 5spd To Zf6 Swap?

hey guys,

i have a 2004.5 K2500HD LLY duramax with the allison 1000 5spd 4X4 and not that theres anything wrong with my alli at all, its just i get kind of bored with an automatic so i was wondering if any body had any info as far as a parts list, estimated cost, etc on swapping out the alli for a zf6 6spd manual?

i have read that the duramax shares the same bellhousing witht the rest of the chevy V8's but i was wondering if i could use a zf out of a ford?

also i heard somewhere that in order to make the manual clear everything you need to do a body lift?

does the zf and the alli share the same tcase? i've been told that the alli and the zf are the same size and everything bolts up except for the whole clutch v. converter thing
