Definate Rubbing/grinding When Turning Left

I'm an owner of a 2006 chevy silverado ext cab 4x4. I bought my truck used in March and it has yet to give me any serious problems. I recently noticed a pulsating rubbing noise while driving and it has gotten progressively worse (to the point where it now sounds like metal on metal grinding). It's very prominent while turning left; but now it's also noticable while driving straight. The noise isn't constant as it comes and goes while driving. Driving over a bump or on an uneven road will cause the noise to sound off, but it gradually becomes quiet again. The sound reminds me of worn brake pads, but having just replaced the rotors and pads on the front I'm convinced that's not the problem. Ive checked for tire rub and anything visible that may come into contact with the tire while driving and haven't had any luck.

My second thought was a faulty wheel bearing so I jacked my truck up and checked for play in the tire. Not feeling any play in the tire caused me to eliminate a faulty wheel bearing or ball joint being the problem. Lastly I was considering the fact it's a CV joint, but can't understand why it's noisy while driving straight (and only in 2WD).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thans for your time.
