Gmt-900 Bluetooth Issues

Every time I receive a call in my truck and use the Bluetooth, upon pressing the button on the steering it takes about 5-10 seconds for the person calling me to hear me. If I have an incoming call and press the button, I'll say hello at least 3-4 times before the person on the other end hears anything. Does anyone else have this problem? If it matters, I have Blackberry 8830 World Edition.

AFAIK, when I am sending a call out via Bluetooth, there is no lag or delay upon initial connection. Suggestions or comments?

When I have an incoming call, the voice announces the incoming call. Before the announcing is complete I go ahead and push the answer button. There is a couple or few seconds delay for mine because she continues to announce the incoming cal. I have kind of accepted the delay as part of the connection. As far as the "bluetooth", I just followed the instructions to program my cell phone into it, so I don't know the program, it came with the truck. My answer, it is common for the delay.

When I answer mine, the people on the other end HEAR the onstar announcement. Lol. But, there is a big delay when doing Bluetooth-Voice-accessing phone. The onstar doesn't lag, takes my phone 20 seconds to open the voice search program. Gonna delete it on my phone and reinstall. Maybe that will help. Id say its probably part phone, part onstar. I wouldn't worry about it. Just a few seconds.

I believe I read that with bluetooth the two units have to establish a link first, then you can talk. The units don't stay connected all the time. Like turning your hands free ear device off after your done talking then turning it back on when some one calls you. There would be a delay.

When I start my truck, my system (truck bluetooth) searches for a device (my cell phone) that is programmed to it. Once it locates it, it will maintain constant communication with it until: 1 - I shut the vehicle off and open the driver side door. 2 - With the vehicle still on, after I walk farther then roughly 30 feet away from my truck and it loses it connection with my phone, it will disconnect from my phone. Outgoing calls start right away and as stated before, it might take a couple or few seconds after I hit the answer button.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I'm not the only one who has noticed this or has this problem. My phone stays connected the whole time the truck is on because I can see the blue light on my phone flashing indicating it's paired. I guess the only hope is a future software update or something. Other vehicles that I have been in and paired my phone don't have this problem that I am aware of.
