2008 Sierra 5.3 Stalling After Cold Start

Vehicle:

- 2008 Sierra crew cab SLE 4x4, aluminum 5.3 AFM ~80,000km

 

Problem:

- Idles rough and sometimes stalls after cold start. Only happens after cold soak, will start fine the rest of the day.

- Starts up fine, but 1 or 2 secs later, starts to idle rough.

- Will usually stall if I don't apply throttle, lasts 10 or 15 seconds.

- Has only happened when plugged in (I almost always plug in when it's cold, live in Canada....)

- Has thrown missfire codes. After rough idle, DIC says to service Stability Track and Traction Control but goes away after a few minutes.

- Have been to dealer many times, but they cannot duplicate the problem.

- I also have the good old lifter tick that seems to be all too popular. Not sure if this is related but I thought I'd mention it.

- I always fill up with premium at reputable gas stations.

 

If you have any ideas to what might be wrong, or if you need any more info, please let me know. I am new to this forum, but I have tried searching and cannot find anything closely related to my problem.
