This is the new design C4500's, not the old Kodiak's and Top Kick's.

This one had the DuraMax Diesel and I gotta say, that DuraMax even in this big a chassis was just as fast if not faster than my 8100 in the 2500!!!!  It also has a tighter turning radius than my truck!  Plus the turbo sounded cool when I got on it.

Best thing, this truck was only $31k!  How about that for a tow vehicle!?!?!

One of the coolest features is it's servicability.  It has a 4 module system.

Module #1 = air intake system which just has to bolt points, and completely comes out in one piece.

Module #2 = Cooling system.  Everything in the cooling system is a self sealing quick disconnect setup.  So removiing the radiator simply means disconnecting all quick disconnect lines and unbolting it from the frame in one piece.

Module #3 = A/C system.  Like the cooling system, all pieces have a quick disconnect which means you do not have to draw down the system when taking things apart.  Just disconnect and go.  :D

Module #4 = the firewall mounted swingaway PCM system called P.A.S.S..  I can't remember what the acronym stands for, but all control units...the PCM, BCM, etc, etc, are all stacked in one unit that as an added bonus, swing away as one piece.  The wiring has an added slack in it to allow this without disconnecting any connections.  Pretty fuggin slick if you ask me!!!

that sounds neat  :thumb:

the new GM medium duty trucks will be some tough competition for the F-650/750.  i just wish they had based the cab off of the silverado instead of the express.

It'll blow the current fords away!  Especially performance wise.

The reason they went with the Express style is for "line of sight" and they make a point of mentioning this in the brochure.  The ford's line of sight over the hood is like 26 degree's vs. the Chevy's 13 degree's.
