I'm In The Market Again!

I'm seriously considering selling the wifey's 2003 Tahoe and picking up a 2007 or 2008 Suburban or Yukon XL. We have four boys between us and really just need something bigger than the Tahoe...not to mention I'd really like her to be in something newer with not as many miles on it.

I'd prefer the Yukon over the Burb, leather over cloth, captains chairs in the 2nd row and the DVD system. Other than that, I'm pretty flexible. Any red flags I need to be on the look-out for?

Nope.. no red flags. Pretty much bullet proof.

I'd make sure what ever you find has the 6-speed transmission.

Good point, I will keep that in mind. Is the 6-speed tranny still the 460le?

What about the AFM/oil consumtion issue I have been reading about? I assume the 07's have AFM.

I haven't heard of any issues except for paint chipping on the hood, but I think that is all vehicles now days. Go for the 'burb. I love the look of the 'hoe and the 'burb more so then the yukon. But you will be happy with whatever you choose  I just saw a white diamond 'burb with all the options at the dealer, awesome. Good luck with your decision.

The 6-speed is completely different than the 4L60e, the new designation for it is the 6L60e.

much more heavy duty too with alot better gearing. As far as AFM, some complain but as a hole, it works as intended. I had it without issue. I choose to turn it off because I saw no difference mileage wise. Did that first with a diablosport tuner, then later with a custom tune from blackbear.

Its the 6L80 not the 6L60 and its is completely different. In the HD's its a 6L90. And its COMPLETELY different and 200% worth it! DO a search for 6 speed or 6L80.
