sweet thanks. i got impulsive just now and bought one off ebay, camera and 3.5 inch screen. gonna try to mount it in the hole to the right side of the radio as i dont use it for anything. or atleast try to put it flush against the dash in that hole. figure ill put the bullit camera in the plate that covers the thing that lowers the spare tire and unscrew it if i ever need it. or atleast somewhere around there. ill figure it out :)

question now is, do i set it up to always stay on as another rear view mirror or have it activate when i go into reverse. this is more for when the wife drives the truck. she makes me nervous.

if you have a 7 pin trailer plug there is a costant 12 volt power all the time

the camera was mounted to a block of wood then velcro'd to hold it in the hole

the wire is red and at the 1 o'clock position you need to connect the wire under the hood to the battery and possibly add the fuse

sounds good, i think i remember reading about brake controllers and guys say that you connect a wire under the hood. probably the same wire for the brake controller and 7 pin correct?

oh and i was searching round last night and found some pics. i was gonna mount the camera in that plate but i may just mount it under the bumper in that hole above the hitch. see if it fits when it gets here.

thanks for the help

If you're not using a relay instead of going for constant 12+vdc hook it up to the reverse light lead so only when you place the vechicle in reverse it will power up your device. If you have the unit running while in drive some local authorities may consider it similar to watching video device at the front of the vehicle therefore leading to a ticket.

another question, to the guys who have run an aftermarket wired unit. where did you run the cable into the cab? i have a wireless unit im gonna put in the wifes carbut the picture quality isnt great being wireless, so i went wired this time around. but im wondering how the hell im gonna run the wires into the truck, is there a gromet at the back of the cab somewhere?
