I have the CCM 2.5" kit in front and a 3" block in rear. I think with 3" you may need new shocks. 2"-2.5", you may be alright. My rear is about 1" higher than the front.

i have accses to a hoist at anytime so thats nice. i just dont know what the hell im doing under there... my ol man is pretty knowledgeable when it comes to older trucks so im sure he will no whats going on. I dont want to spend much money on it.. i thought to raise the back 2in as well might look good. or even 1 1/2 so its a little more level and taller. also what kind of blocks? iv heard hockey pucks. But my dad also owns a machine shop so he can fab anything from steel or alum.

You'll need to remove the current block (about 1.25 inches) and replace it with a taller one. Most folks are using a 3 inch block in its place (for approx 1.75 inch extra lift). You will need to buy new U bolts along with the blocks. Lots of places will sell it as a kit.

It really is not a tough job.

and what about adding a leaf... whats with that? i wouldnt mind having the rear a little stronger.

Adding a leaf works but is makes for a brutal ride over rough streets because of the added stiffness. It's a good idea if you are planning on hauling a lot regularly... but that's only my opinion. I like my smooth ride!

yea i guess i would rather have it smooth as well. Is the leveling kit and a 3in block in the rear and 285 duratracs going to make the ride a lot more rough all together?

I got an Add a leaf with the fabtech kit and its not a brutal ride at all. If anything it just makes the rear springs as strong as you would expect them to be from the factory.

Yes it does IMO. I have that setup right now (except I have 285 Toyo's).

The only thing that will change your ride is the Type of tire you use, change in dampers and/or springs. The lift it self does not change the spring rate or damping.
