For a year or 2, I've been getting intermittent "Service 4wd Soon" messages on the display. I see this is a fairly common common thing. Here are the codes I pulled today, do these look like the normal symptoms, and does anyone have a course of action I should take?

Oh yeah, and the info in my profile is correct, this is an '04 GMC Yukon

man that blows.... the 4L60 usually lasts to at least 120k. what are you gonna do? replace the tranny?

I'm not sure, thinking about a Monster rebuilt unit + new converter

This is basically a daily driver/family commuter. Never tows, never beat on, etc. I'm fairly disgusted, and wish I had paid $1200 bucks for an extended warranty.

Part of me just wants to throw in a shift kit and some upgraded valve body parts and have at it until it self destructs -- the responsible side of me that doesn't want to be stranded 300 miles from home with a wife and 2 young kids tells me to just get a rebuilt unit, swap them both and don't look back.

Just not sure how hard these things are to R&R.

So anyway, for those following along at home, I bought and installed this, and I'm glad I did.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...RK%3AMEWNX%3AIT

It came with the SK4L60E shift kit, sonnex pinless accumulators, new PWM valve, and a few other things.

I also opted for the corvette 2-4 servo, since the stock one had to come out anyway.

I drained the fluid and dropped the pan and thought "there's no way this trans is on it's last leg"... The fluid was nice and red, and there was very minimal redidue in the pan.

Right off the bat, the 1-2 shift is perfect. It's not harsh, but nice and firm. I wish I would have gone a little bigger on the hole for the 2-3 shift, but I really wasn't out for making the transmission shift harder, I iust wanted it to work right.

4th gear holds much better, and the converter locks quickly and also seems to hold better.

No more rumble strip sensation while cruising at low RPM (30-50 MPH, < 2000 RPM)

I'm cautiously optimistic, but I think my problems there are solved. Wish I would have done this mod sooner.

Now, does anyone have any good ideas on my DTC's ??
