Hi ive been lurking on these boards for a while, but this is my first post.

I replaced the motor on a 2001 5.3 K1500 due to flood damage, the water reached to the bottom of the seats.

Now the security light is constantly on, i've done the relearn procedure but the light still does not go off after leaving the key in the on position for 10 minutes. the light is on with all doors closed and key out, and with doors open key in or out. I tried connecting my scan tool but it can't communicate with the BCM.

The motor turns on for about 3 seconds then stalls. i dont know what to do anymore. any Ideas?

I had this problem with a '00 Jimmy that ended up being a blown fuse which powered the BCM. Could be that the BCM isn't getting power ... or has no or poor continuity to ground ... or the BCM is junk altogether. With water, there's more than likely a few bugs your going to have to work out of the electrical system ... especially if this is salt water.

Had same problem on my 01 sierra, it`s probably the 10amp fuse for body controller in underhood fuse compartment labeled TBC
