Parking Brake Release

So, went to release my parking brake today, the cable snapped. So, call local GM dealer and yes indeed, they have the release cable/handle assembly in stock. "What's that run?" I say? "$64.50 I am told." I said "I'd rather pay $50.00 for it...how about that?" "Yeah, we can work with you, $50.00 will work." Lesson for the day: Always give it a try. Those prices obviously include a lot of fluff. The repair itself only took me about 10 minutes, totally easy. Anybody else with a GMT-800 have the release cable snap? I hadn't heard of it happening on this forum before.

I think if you would be in warranty they would not have charged you anything for that.... if yes they had definately made a fools of you... any incident with car failure should be cured for free under GM's policy!!!!
