Ecmb Fuse Blows

I've got a 2002 silverado 2500HD 6.0L V8 165,000miles. it will start and run for 5-10 seconds then the ECMB fuse blows. i checked the fuel pressure and it reads 50psi, which is lower than the 55-60psi recommended. the pressure regulator when pulled bumps it up 10 psi which is normal. also when the key is off the pressure slowly bleeds out...and i'm pretty sure the line isnt leaking.

if i look up fuel pump threads people say it needs to be changed. but if i look up ECMB problem threads people say they changed the fuel pump and still are blowing the fuse. So what is MY problem?

ECM B fuse powers the engine control module, transmission control module, and fuel pump relay, according to schematics. Could have a short in the wiring to one of these, or one of them is drawing too much amperage. The fuel pump could be drawing too much also, as it is powered off the relay. Only way to figure it out is to start checking amperage draw on each of these. Hope that helps ya.

ok, through my research i've noticed no one ever comes back and says what the fix was...which is annoying. SO my problem was solved with a new fuel pump. i briefly checked for a short then thought about it and because my truck was dying within 5-10 seconds of ideling...i figured it wasnt a short (not enough vibration). also i giggled all the wires so that would have changed something. Also switched the relays and that didnt change anything and the pressure regulator was working properly. So with that out of the way i went ahead and changed the fuel pump...when i pulled the old one out the sock/filter/screen was very dirty and look pretty plugged up. i figured this has got to be it...and it was. i went ahead and changed the whole pump assembly because i had dropped the tank and everything just changing the sock would have probably worked but for how long...i dont know. thanks for the help.
