Dmax Emissions?

Recommended Posts

I got a 2002 dmax in colorado. I live in california. I went to the DMV to register it today, and they told me that they need to know if it is ca emissions ready. There is some sticker somewhere in the engine compartment that tells what states the emissions stuff applies to. Where is that sticker? also, what if it does not apply to cal? What can I do? Before I got the truck, it was in ohio. I got it new...Thanks...

There should be a "C.A.R.B." sticker in there somewhere for California emissions.  If there isn't I don't know what you would do...  My first stop would be at a GM dealer to see what they say.   ???

You might want to start a thread in the general/off-topic forum and try to catch the eyes of some of the west coast guys and see if they can give you some more info...

On the Dmax, look for an Isuzi engine manufacture specification plate directly under the air intake just past the air filter - left side of the engine facing the engine compartment from the front. It has all the emission particulars for that specific engine. One can not just buy a new truck elsewhere and bring it directly into CA. A vehicle must have at least 7500 miles on it- not be considered new. If not, it has to meet all CA smog requirements. Hope that helps
