Hello Everyone. Last night, after replacing all my brake lines and bleeding the brakes manually I decided to clean the abs sensor because it was coming on under 5 mph pretty much all the time. I replaced the brake lines because I lost one, I had them all done, bled, and when I was taking the truck off the lift lost a front hose, so I replaced them both. No lights until I did the front hoses and abs sensors, so I think it is the sensor(s) causing the message. Truck drives and brakes work fine, with the exception of the abs. Anyone have any insight? Will the message go away? Do I need to replace a sensor? My code reader won't read the abs system, so I'm not sure what code it is throwing.. Thanks for your help!

About a month ago I cleaned my sensors and mounting area and replaced one sensor because it broke when I took it out. All was fine for about 2 weeks and then my ABS light started coming on and the ABS activating. Had to take it to a garage because they have the code reader. The garage had to clean 2 grounds on the frame near the ABS unit, they said a GM dealer told them that has been a problem. My brakes are fine so far. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I would imagine that was drivers side, under the door? I am guessing it is one of the sensors as it didn't show up until we messed with them..

Mine will do the same thing below 5 mph but it does it intermittently. All brake lines are fine and no leaks or anything. Any fix for this other than the grounds at the frame? Doesnt really bother me and its not horrible but irritating sometimes.

The ABS Sensor probably needs to ome out and be cleaned, you can find instructions online. I think I am just going to replace mine one at a time. There is a test to tell which one is causing the problem. The caliper and rotor have to come off to change it, but it's pretty straightforward..

Yes. the garage I went to said the grounds are near the ABS unit inder the driver side, only took him about 15 minutes to do, must be easy to get at.

That is correct, they are easy to get to. I don't think they are my problem though as it didn't show up til after we cleaned them

OK, I went and had the codes read, and it showed an 0026 ( I think ) but it was right front abs sensor, so I replaced it. Service braking system soon message went away, as did the red brake light. But the ABS light is still on. Anyone have any idea why that would be? Will it go out in time? I'm thinking of buying Autotap for my laptop to be able to read these other sytem codes, anyone have any input on that? Is there a better scanner for the money? Thanks

What did the sensor run you? My right front is bad too.... only 26k miles! This is actually a dangerous problem that I can't believe that there isn't a TSB about it!
