Adding Amp/subs To 2500hd With Bose

id like to add an amplifier and 2 10" kicker cvt subs in my 05 silverado 2500hd crew cab. i found a empty kicker thunder form box for behind the seats. im going to add 2 kicker cvt10's to it. no my problems are on the right way to hook it all up. my truck has bose with factory sub. i looked on pac-audio site for the adapter to plug it all in easily but the one they list for 05 silverados AOEM_GM24 says not compatable with amplified systems. but it does says compatable with bose and onstar. if i look up 05 gmc sierra they show a C2A-GM24 which says works with premium bose amplified systems with y91 code. i looked on my glove box lid and dont see y91 code. i know people have said they used the AOEM-GM24 and it works but when i called the pac tech upport he said it may work but the output at the speaker is already pre amp level not speaker level so you would be hooking up the line convertor tryto reduce the preamp level to preamp level. he said the signal would be very low. best thi ng to do is just get a universal line convertor and pick up signal after the amp. he said if im using the amp for subs just pick up the signal from wire running to factory sub. that sounds easy enough but i may or may not be getting the frequency range i want. what do you reccomend or what have you done? what is the difference between a bose and bose premium in these trucks?

Glad you got it figured out. I had the same experience finding the correct PAC module for my 04 1500. I don't remember which one I ended up with, but I think it actually said it was for an Escalade and the one I ordered that showed compatible didn't work. Caused all kinds of electrical wierdness when I hooked it up. BTW even with the PAC there is one wire you are still going to have to splice from your factory HU harness. IIRC it was pink? Sorry it's been a long time that's all I remember...

I think those 10s are going to sound great! I have a pair of Infinity 12s (1200w eack) powered by a 2400 Rockford and it sounds pretty good. Got them on a buy-one get one free sale at Bestbuy. One day I will replace them with Kickers...

i ended up not using anything pac. i used a audiocontrol LC2i factory sound processor. worked perfect.

I am looking at installing an Alpine 1000 amp 2 10s in JL stealthbox. i want to use my Bose factory as highs/mids. I have a 2011 GMC Sierra with bose. The highs sound ok. I am curious how the LC2i works?
