Usually the heated mirror and rear defroster is on the same switch, usually the hvac mode switch button. did you check the build sheet that came on the window?

yep I did look at the window sticker and it does say heated mirrors but when I turn the rear defrost on no ice melts from the mirrors but it does from the rear window thats why I was wondering If you guys had any ideas before it goes back to the dealer...

RPO codes 'DL3' or 'DPN' are heated mirrors, you can check the label in the glove box. If they don't appear to be working then I'd get them checked out. Since you have rear defog lines on the rear window, then yes, as mentioned, they come on at the same time using the one switch.

Turn on your rear defrost and wait about a minute, go and touch your outside mirrors. They should be very warm to the touch.

on mine you have to push the knob in to get the heat in the mirrors as well as the rear defrost. The same knob that switches the heat from legs to dash to defrost

I have a question about the heated mirrors. I have RPO code DPF, which is apparently -

MIRROR O/S LH & RH, WIDE LOAD, REMOTE CONTROL, ELECTRIC HEATED HEATED R/CONT O/S MIR(DPF)

They extend out for towing, which I am guessing is the WIDE LOAD, REMOTE CONTROL but what is O/S and does it mean my mirror are heated?

I have only owned the truck for 4 months and its summer here in Australia so I have not had a need to put the rear demistor on to check.....

Thanks

Too add to my earlier post: DL8 is the other model of the mirrors... and all THREE (DL3, DL8 and DPN) are listed as heated.

DE2 are the regular mirrors (non-heated and manual) and DF2 are the trailer mirrors (non-heated and manual)

DPF - OSRV RETRACTABLE CAMPER STYLE POWER MIRRORS W/TURN SIGNAL AND HEAT

The OSRV would stand for "outside rear view" DPF and DPN appear to be the same mirror.
