Chrome Lugs Won't Fit?

on the recommendation of someone here, I purchased chrome lug nuts from ebay. they are similar to the ones in the picture but it has been several months now and I do not recall the seller.

I have stock 2006 chevrolet alloy wheels. I do not have a picture, but they have a center disc and 6 black lug nuts or caps.

 

I took the truck for tire rotation and the tire guy said he could not use the chrome lug nuts because of that center disc. something about the black lug nuts holds the center disk in place. he said that before a tire even came off. however, I know very little so I could not argue.

 

do I need to sell them or is there a way to use them with my particular wheel set?

As the tire guy said. The black plastic lug nut COVERS screw onto the real lug nuts underneath. Their purpose is to retain the plastic cover that hides the ugly factory lug nuts.

Your chrome lug nuts will work if you remove the factory lug nuts and not use the lug nut covers and plastic cover. This will leave the unfinished center of the wheel exposed but your chrome lugs nuts will be exposed for all to admire. Rick

You can maybe find some chrome caps for the factory lugs, but aftermarket lugs will not work properly with that particular rim setup.
