My truck wont start now after I've changed the batterie cables and cleaned the grounds. First time I changed the positive cable to the starter I didnt realise that the lead was touching the exhaust manifold and I burnt the wire, replaced both and now the truck will turn over and sputter but wont catch, any help would be great as I need the truck for work

wires and plugs are a few months old, and the cap was checked and cleaned when the plugs and wire were changed. havent checked the coil yet. when I turn it over it is almost acting like it's flooded

You could have moved the timing a little but i think you have a different problem when you crank it is there fuel spray from the injectors? Also might be the ign module.A dead ignition module can be differentiated from a bad coil by a simple electrical test, while cranking the starter, connect a light-tester to the positive battery terminal and check for continuity with the black output wire on the module. If the module is working, the light will flicker on and of in a predictable fashion. If there is no light or the light is constant, it's time to replace your module.

the other thing to do is the simplest. you said you grounded the positive cable when you changed the wires so start by checking fuses. ignition and fuel pump fuses

there is fuel spray from the injectors, and a mild spark(back fired and flamed up while i was holding the TB open) but haven checked spark at coil or plugs. Will check fuses and module and let you know. thanks for the tips
